You've rebuilt your brand more times than you can count. Every rebuild starts the same way: a new offer, prettier marketing photos, a batch of content ready to promote your new offer.

When you started this new direction, you were on fire. You knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that this was the new brand positioning that would finally make it big. And then a few months in, after putting your head down and doing the work, things start to feel wobbly. Your offers aren't selling the way you know they should, and your engagement numbers aren't climbing.

You've done the inner work, your offers are solid, your visuals are gorgeous. But, when someone you know asks to see your website, your YouTube channel, or any of your social profiles, your inner organs cringe. Because you know your online presence doesn't reflect the true depth of your genius.

I know exactly how you feel. For eight years I built brands for seven-figure founders, speakers, and authors. I ran a design studio, built my own personal brand, grew a team of nine, and worked across design, consciousness, systems, and marketing.

And in all that time working with seven-figure powerhouses, I learned one rule that decides everything: the brands that pull clients without chasing them all share the same foundation. Every part of their brand identity weaves together into one clear, cohesive story. The brands that stay invisible are missing one or more of those threads, so the picture never fully comes together. And a portrait with threads missing doesn't read as a slightly weaker version of you. It reads as someone else, or as no one worth remembering.

After those eight years, I built the PRISM: Brand Identity Framework that takes you from feast-or-famine and best-kept-secret to a brand clients recognize on sight and pay 5-6 figures for without a second thought.

Why I Call Them Threads, Not Layers

When I first tried to explain the PRISM: Brand Identity Framework, I kept calling the parts "layers." It never sat right. They aren't layers stacked on top of each other, and they aren't phases you move through in order. They're five parts of your identity that weave together, all at once, into a single portrait.

Picture weaving that portrait out of colored thread. Every thread has its place, and the finished piece only reads as you when all of them are woven in. Pull one color out, or weave it in wrong, and you don't get a slightly-off portrait. You get a piece with a gap torn through it, and every eye that lands on it goes straight to the gap.

That's the real difference between a layer and a thread. A layer sits on top of the others, so if you get one wrong you can peel it back and redo it. A thread runs through all the rest. Get one thread wrong and you haven't ruined a single layer, you've changed the whole portrait, and setting it right takes knowing exactly which thread pulled the piece out of true.

That's why I stopped calling them layers and started calling them threads.

If you're not making the money, the fame, or the success you want, at least one of your threads isn't in full alignment with who you are and what you were born to become.

So let's walk through all five, in the order that spells PRISM, so you can see exactly which thread is pulling your brand out of shape and what it takes to weave it back into alignment with you. No thread comes first; they only hold together as one.

1) Presence: Why You Unconsciously Attract Clients Who Can't Afford You

Presence is you. Your own consciousness: how you think, what you believe you're worth, the way you operate when no one is watching.

When this thread is out of alignment: you don't feel worthy of the clients you actually want, so you aim lower. You market to people who negotiate for discounts instead of people who value your work. You pitch your lowest ticket prices instead of the one your work is worth, and you tell yourself you'll level up once your brand feels ready. You haven't fully met yourself yet, so you can't even name your own Brand Archetype, let alone build a brand around it.

How it ripples into the other threads:

  • Resonance: you can't name the archetype you haven't grown into yet, so the soul of your brand stays undefined.

  • Influence: not feeling worthy, you aim at a smaller audience and market beneath the clients you actually want.

  • Signature: your visuals start reflecting who you're settling for instead of who you are.

  • Magnetism: you can't embody a room you don't believe you belong in, so you show up smaller than your talent.

2) Resonance: Why Your Brand Feels Like a Costume

Resonance is your Brand Archetype, the soul of your brand. It's what makes your brand unmistakably yours instead of interchangeable with everyone else in your space.

When this thread is out of alignment: you build around who you think you should be instead of who you are. You promote with stories and energies (ie: hype-girl, or spiritual badass, or woo-woo boss babe) that were never yours, forcing yourself to wear a version of yourself that feels like a costume. It's exhausting, and it will never become sustainable, because you're spending your energy holding yourself to someone you're not.

How it ripples into the other threads:

  • Presence: forcing an identity that isn't yours slowly erodes your confidence in who you actually are.

  • Influence: you attract the people who like the costume, not the real you, so your audience never quite fits.

  • Signature: your visuals go unnatural to you, all-black-and-edgy when soft-and-warm was always you.

  • Magnetism: you read as slightly inauthentic in person, and you become easy to forget.

3) Influence: Why a Beautiful Brand Still Reaches No One

Influence is your audience: exactly who you're speaking to, and how you reach them. It's the marketing thread, and it's the one most brand strategists skip.

When this thread is out of alignment: most strategists jump straight to your Brand Archetype and your visual identity without ever asking who all of it is actually for. So you build a beautiful brand that speaks to no one in particular, which means it speaks to no one. You post consistently and your audience won't grow, your content gets no traction, and you stay invisible while doing all the work.

You can have the most soulful brand in your industry and still be invisible. If you don't know exactly who you're speaking to, you're only ever speaking to yourself.

How it ripples into the other threads: when you overcorrect, throwing yourself into marketing tactics to fix the invisibility, you drift the other way, and it drags the rest with it:

  • Resonance: you chase what works for everyone else and slowly lose the soul of the brand you built.

  • Presence: staying invisible makes you second-guess whether you're even meant for this.

  • Signature: you trend-chase your visuals for attention, drifting from your archetype.

  • Magnetism: people-pleasing for reach pulls how you show up away from who you are, and you burn out running marketing that was never yours.

4) Signature: Why You Keep Rebranding and It Never Settles

Signature is your visual world: your logo, your colors, your design language, the assets people actually see.

When this thread is out of alignment: you build here first and skip the inner threads, so you're designing from trends instead of from yourself. The look never settles. You rebrand, then a few months later you rebrand again, chasing whatever feels current, and each new look pulls in people who liked the trend instead of people who wanted you.

How it ripples into the other threads:

  • Resonance: trend-built visuals drift from your Brand Archetype until the brand stops looking like you.

  • Influence: a trend-chasing look pulls in trend-reactors instead of your soul clients.

  • Magnetism: your visual brand and your physical presence stop matching, so nothing reads as one person.

  • Presence: every failed rebrand chips at your confidence and restarts the whole cycle.

5) Magnetism: Why People Don't Recognize You On Sight

Magnetism is how you physically show up: your embodied style, your image, your Kibbe Type, your Personal Color Season.

When this thread is out of alignment: people don't recognize you on sight. You show up at the event, on the podcast, in someone's DMs, and you blend in, because nobody connects the person in front of them to the brand they follow.

How it ripples into the other threads:

  • Presence: not feeling at home in how you show up feeds the self-doubt underneath everything.

  • Resonance: your physical image stops matching your Brand Archetype, so the soul and the surface disagree.

  • Signature: your in-person presence and your visual brand read as two different people.

  • Influence: when people can't connect your face to your brand, they don't remember you well enough to follow.

Aligned on All Five: Your Apex Brand Identity

When all five threads align to who you actually are, your brand finally starts pulling its weight. The right clients find you and book you without a sales call, referrals show up on their own, and you raise your rates without doubting your value.

That's your Apex Brand Identity: a brand people recognize on sight and pay 5-6 figures for without a second thought. It's the brand you'd send to anyone who asks, feeling proud and confident of your work.

You don't get there by fixing all five at once. You get there by finding the one thread that's most out of alignment with your brand and starting there. That's what Part 2 is for, dropping next week. Subscribe so it lands in your inbox the day it's live.

And if you can't name your Brand Archetype, aka your Resonance thread within the PRISM: Brand Identity Framework, start there. It's the soul the other four are woven around. Take the Brand Archetype Quiz and you'll have your first thread in hand today.

And if your result surprises you, that surprise is the most useful thing about it.
