When Expansion Starts to Feel Draining
Before last week’s article on the solar eclipse, we started talking about Energetic Boundaries: what they are, and why they matter.
There’s a point in growth where effort stops being the issue.
You’re clear on what you want.
You’ve raised your standards.
Your future direction isn’t vague anymore.
And yet, things that used to be easy to create suddenly feel hard to accomplish.
That’s because your goals have become more precise.
When your desires were smaller and less defined, you could tolerate a lot of noise (limiting beliefs, bad habits, tense relationships.) As your desire expands (to lead more, create more, earn more) that tolerance drops.
The more noise you allow to exist in your life, the less of your potential you have access to.
That’s where mastery of your Energetic Boundaries come into play. They determine how much outside input you allow to shape your internal state as you move toward what you want.
What Energy Leakage Actually Looks Like
Before we can talk about how to actually set your Energetic Boundaries, we first need to understand what Energy Leakage looks like.
You can’t set a boundary if you don’t realize there is a problem. And the majority of lack of manifestation comes down to not having proper boundaries to protect the identity you’re striving to become.
Let’s take a look at what energy leakage looks like in each domain:
Mental Leakage
Your mind runs without direction
Worst-case scenarios feel automatic
You struggle to hold a clear thought without interruption
Mental noise overrides intuition
Emotional Leakage
You’re easily irritated, frustrated, or emotionally reactive
Or emotionally flat and disconnected
Your emotions feel like they’re driving you, not informing you
Physical Leakage
Difficulty sleeping or fully resting
Frequent fatigue or illness
Feeling dysregulated even when “nothing is wrong”
Relational Leakage
People overstep even when you communicate boundaries
You over-explain yourself or feel misunderstood
You’re included physically but not energetically
You feel pulled into dynamics you didn’t choose
Spiritual Leakage
Loss of clarity around purpose or direction
Feeling unsupported or unlucky
A sense that things don’t move in your favor despite effort
Energy Leakage by Domain

What Actually Sets an Energetic Boundary
Once you have an idea of which domain is leaking energy, then you can dive into setting new Energetic Boundaries.
Setting Energetic Boundaries comes down to:
Recognition: about what you are no longer available for
Understanding: why that boundary exists and
Align: to how it supports the identity you’re becoming
Commitment: to holding that boundary without internal negotiation
Contrary to popular belief, energetic boundaries aren’t set by cleansing rituals, protection practices, or symbolic actions.
They’re set by clear internal intention and an unwavering refusal to entertain anything else.
Your boundary is set, as soon as you draw the line in the sand.
What This Looks Like in Practice
Here’s a simple example.
Let’s say you’re expanding into a new level of leadership or income, and you notice constant mental noise and fatigue.
You’ve already identified that the leakage is happening in the mental and relational domains (you’re worried that the big money you’ve been making won’t stay, and you’ve realized a friend you’ve had for years doesn’t actually want you to succeed)
Setting the energetic boundary doesn’t necessarily mean you need to cut out this person completely, or start doing daily hypnosis.
It starts with an internal decision.
You get clear on what you are no longer available for:
entertaining doubt every time someone questions your direction
revisiting decisions you’ve already made
explaining yourself to people who aren’t invested in where you’re going
You clarify why this boundary exists:
because indecision drains your energy
because leadership requires internal stability
because the identity you’re stepping into can’t afford constant self-negotiation
Once you’ve identify what domain your energy is leaking in, then define the new boundary, the boundary is already set.
And that’s it. It’s really as simple as that.
Your job is simply to respect your own boundary by taking actions that reinforce it.
What Comes Next
So far, we’ve been working at the level of understanding. IE: energy, boundaries, and where leaks actually happen.
Next, we move into direct emotional processing.
In the next article, I’ll walk you through my unique Somatic EFT process I use to release emotional charge. It’s something both myself and my clients love and swear by, so you’re not going to want to miss this.
